Japanese ‘optimistic’ of Map Ta Phut verdict

Japanese Ambassador Masato Otaka was quoted by The Nation on 19/1109 as being optimistic the court would hand down a positive verdict to investors.

While the legal process continues, the government has appointed a four-member commission, under the chairmanship of Anand Panyarachun, Chairman of Siam Commercial Bank, to work out long-term measures.

Siam Cement Group is a major investor in Map Ta Phut.
